What is IP Address ?

IP Address एक fundamental protocol है , जिसका use internet पर communication करने के लिए किया जाता है। इसकी full form Internet Protocol है। Network में यह device के लिए एक तरह से id की तरह work करता है , जिसका use करके internet पर devices एक दूसरे से communicate करती है।

Example :

Example के लिए जब आप mobile पर किसी friend या relative से बात करते हैं तो , आपको mobile number चाहिए होता है। जो एक दूसरे से बात करने के लिए एक address की तरह work करता है। इसी तरह से जब आप कोई order book करने के लिए घर का address देते हैं जो real world में एक physical Address है। हर घर का address unique होगा , नहीं तो information delivery में problem होगी।

ठीक इसी तरह से जब हम network की बात करते हैं , तो यहां devices एक दुसरे से virtually communicate करती हैं। communication करने के लिए obviously एक id /address की जरूरत होगी , जिसे IP Address कहते हैं।

Types Of IP address

अभी तक दो तरह की IP addresses , represent किया है -

1. IPv4

2. IPv6
   

IPv4

IPv4 addresses , 32 bits (four bytes) के होते हैं जिन्हे 4 parts में divide किया जाता है जैसे 216.58.216.164, जो Google.com का front page है।

32-bit number की maximum value 2^32 होगी , जिसे calculate करने पर 4,294,967,296 आएगा। इसका मतलब है IPv4 के कुल 4.3 billion addresses हो सकते हैं , जिसे address space कहते हैं।

आज की population के according हालाँकि या number छोटा है , लेकिन 1980s में यह हर networking device के लिए काफी था क्योंकि उस time पर इतनी population नहीं थी। इसलिए IPv6 को use में लिया गया , क्योंकि हर device का IP Address , आपके mobile number की तरह unique ही होता है।

IP address classes

IPv4 को 5 classes में divide किया गया है, इन class में IP Address की range को define किया गया है।

1. Class A – 0 to 126

2. Class B – 128 to 191

3. Class C – 192 to 223 

4. Class D – 224 to 239
   

5. Class E – 240 to 255
   

आपने notice किया होगा कि कही भी 127 mention नहीं है वो इसलिए क्योंकि 127.x.x.x range की सभी IPs को loopback या localhost के लिए रखा गया है , जैसे 127.0.0.1। और 255.255.255.255 Range का address सभी local network के लिए broadcast करता है।

IPv6

इसे Internet protocol version 6 कहते हैं क्योंकि ये IPv4 का advance और upgraded version है। इसकी रेंज 0 से लेकर 65535 तक की होती है। इसमें 128 bits और 8 octet होती है। IPv6 की की maximum value 2^128 होगी और calculate करने पर आपको something 340 trillion मिलेगा। मतलब इससे 340 trillion IPs address generate किए जा सकते हैं।

IPv6 addresses को 8 groups में divide किया गया है जिसमे हर group में 4 hexadecimal digits होते हैं। यहां इसमें groups को dot की जगह colon से separate किया गया है।

for example, 2022:0db8:0000:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7344 को 2022:db8::8a2e:370:7344 लिखा और use में लिया जाता है।

अपना IP Address जानने के दो तरीके हैं -

1. अगर आप computer / laptop use कर रहे हैं तो लिए simply अपना command prompt (CMD) open करें और ipconfig type करके enter करें , आपको अपना IP Address दिख जायगा।

2. दूसरा आप कोई भी browser open करके what is my ip search / my ip search करें , लगभग सभी search engines आपका IP Address बता देंगे।
