Computer Networking में कई तरह की Network devices का use communication के लिए किया जाता है। हर device का purpose और उसके functions एक-दूसरे से different-different होते है। इस topic में हम आपको Network में use होने वाले Gateway के बारे में बताएंगे।

Gateway in Hindi (Gateway क्या है ?)

जैसा कि इसके नाम से समझ सकते है, कि यह दो networks के बीच एक Gate की तरह work करता है। जिस तरह से किसी एक घर / Office या school में अंदर जाने और बाहर आने के लिये main gate होता है , उसी तरह से किसी Network में Gateway , entry और exit point के रूप में work करता है।

Networking में Gateway दो dissimilar (अलग - अलग तरह के networks) type के networks को आपस मे connect करने के लिये use में लिया जाता है। इसका main purpose data को एक protocol से दूसरे protocol में translate करना होता है। इसीलिए इसे Gateway को Protocol Converters भी कहा जाता है।

Gateway को OSI Model के किसी भी layer में use जा सकता है। जो difference - difference communication protocols को need के according translate करने का काम करता है।

Gateway Example -

For Example , किसी local area network (LAN) को public network (internet) से connect करने के लिए या कह सकते हैं कि Internet पर communicate करने के लिए आपको Gateway का use करना ही पड़ेगा , क्योंकि LAN में Internet से different protocols को use में लिया जाता है।

घरों में जब आप किसी company का wifi लगवाते हैं , तो यहां आपका Internet Service Provider (ISP) एक Gateway की की तरह work करता है। Computer Network में Router को भी भी एक Gateway device की तरह work करने के लिये configure किया जाता है।

Features of Gateway in Hindi

• यह different frame, formats, और different protocols के बीच translator की तरह work करता है।

• यह network की boundary / end point पर located होता है और सभी incoming और outgoing data को manage करता है।

• Gateway , Network में data transmit करने के लिए packet switching technique का use करता है।

• Gateway एक Intelligent network devices है क्योंकि ये OSI Model की multiple layers पर work करता है।

• यह public और private network के बीच security भी provide करता है।

Types of Gateway in Hindi

Normally , gateway दो तरह के होते हैं -

1. Unidirectional Gateway

2. Bidirectional Gateway
   

Unidirectional Gateway

Unidirectional gateway, hardware और software का combination होते हैं , यह data को केवल एक ही directionमें transmit करते हैं। मतलब एक time में या तो data send हो सकता है या receive हो सकता है। इस type के Gateway को archiving tools के नाम से भी जाना जाता है।

Bidirectional Gateways

Bidirectional Gateway, data को दोनों direction में transmit कर सकते हैं। इस तरह के gateway का use का synchronization devices में किया जाता है। जैसे sockets Bidirectional होते हैं , जहाँ पर data send करने पर receiver से feedback भी मिलता है।
